Even you could choose any filename and any extension, I suggest using an extension that shows audio rate and stereo or mono mode. In the batch-files I use the following:
* .AFM - Fullrate, mono
* .AFS - Fullrate, stereo
* .AHM - Halfrate, mono
* .AHS - Halfrate, stereo
